A Cooking Class in Thailand

We both really enjoy cooking (My partner and I). We thought it would be a great idea to try a Thai cooking class whilst on our travels in Thailand.  We  did a bit of research online and on Trip Advisor (the best website ever for travelling), and found Phuket Thai Cookery School

We had the best day! They picked us up from out Hotel at 7:30 am ( too early, but worth it!). The first stop was the locals fresh food market in Phuket Town. Was such a good experience  having someone taking about the local foods.  The setting of the school was beach front. AMAZING. We cooked 5 thai dishes, and ate each one. I have to say I was very very full by the end of it. It was worth it though. The Thai teachers are VERY good. They spoke English very well, and had us laughing with their humour all day.

Here’s some shots from the day.

Poached Eggs & Prosciutto with Hollandaise – YUM!

This is a shoot I did with the amazing stylist Krysti Wilson.  I really love this shot. One of the best things about this shoot was eating it when we finished!  It was amazing!!!!

Baking for Dad

One thing my sister & I love doing for Dad is baking his favourite Caramel Tart. The only thing missing that day was my sis!! I went home to QLD over the weekend. It was well needed time away from the city. What I love about going home is the fresh air, the mountains, the sleep in’s, the serenity, the birds, the farm fresh eggs, no phone reception, the instant stress relief, seeing family and just the all too familiar surrounds. Home.

Raspberry & Pistachio Friands

These were yummy!!! If I keep eating everything I shoot, I will have to start exercising!

I love this little shoot we did. I’m enjoying shooting with this “fresh” feel. It’s cute.

I had a conversation this morning, about the word “cute”. Cute is high on my list of positive descriptive words. It’s kinda the “AMAZING” word for me.  The person I had the convo with stated that “cute” meant more like ” its average”…  I don’t think so! When I think of cute, I think of gorgeous new born babies,  beautiful light, a sense of freshness, and just lovely things.  There you have it, my description of cute.

Cute Cookies

These cookies were so cute that we had to shoot them again!! I love the use of colour in this shot! It’s so pretty!

Macadamia Cookies

We noticed that we have been a shooting a little on the dark side lately with our food shots. So, we decided that we should lighten it up a bit.  Here is a cute shoot of Macadamia Cookies that Bean baked & styled. Its the first shot in our little baking series.

Comfort Food for any Man.

The weather is turning cold, and its time to start cooking comfort food. I’m not a fan of cold weather, actually i kind of hate it. The only thing i like about cold weather is being able to sit in front of  a warm open fire (not that I have one at my house), eating a good roast and a drinking really nice bottle of Red.  Natasha (my bestie and stylist)  and I  decided to cook a  Rib-Eye Roast. It ended up being quite a masculine food shot. I could imagine that any guy looking at this shot would love to eat it!

Italian Feast – A day of Cooking, Styling & Photography.

This food shoot was done at my little home studio with my Melbourne Bestie Natasha Cuenca (Bean). I really loved the way she styled these shots.

We started at 11am. I wish every work day started like that.
